PUBLIC NOTICE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I 2020-2024 CONSOLIDATED PLAN (CP) and Action Plan (AP) WITH THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT The Hawai`i County Council has approved the County of Hawai`i’s 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan (CP) and 2020 Action Plan (AP) for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) and the National Housing Trust Fund (HTF) Programs with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and has authorized the Mayor to execute and submit its Annual 2020 Action Plan to HUD for the CDBG program. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) PROGRAM The County of Hawai`i anticipates that the County’s total 2020 CDBG allocation is $2,626,423.00. In addition, the County also anticipates receiving $100,000.00 of additional program income from the Residential Emergency Repair Program for a total $2,726,423.00 of CDBG monies. To meet the County’s five (5) year CP Priorities and Objectives, the following projects will be included in the 2020 Action Plan. 2020 CDBG Projects Amount Mental Health Kokua Facility Sewer Connection $ 220,000.00 Kiheipua Emergency Shelter Certified Kitchen $ 388,175.00 Construction Kaiaulu O’ Waikoloa Rental Housing Off Site $ 800,000.00 Infrastructure Improvements Hale Maluhia Emergency Shelter Accessibility $ 561,015.00 Improvements Residential Repair- Homeowner Loan Program $ 231,949.00 Administration, Planning&Fair Housing___________________ $ 525,284.00 Total $2,726,423.00 The CDBG project amount for all projects may change to accommodate the actual amount of grant funds or program income received or if there are any cancelled project(s) or reprogramming of CDBG funds. PUBLIC REVIEW PERIOD The Final 2020-2024 CP/AP will be available for public review from May 11, 2020 to May 15, 2020 on the County of Hawai`i’s Office of Housing and Community Development Website: www.hawaiicounty.gov/office-of-housing/ The OHCD will mail the final CP/AP to HUD, Honolulu Area Office, on May 15, 2020 to meet HUD’s submittal deadline.
