DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES Mental Health Kokua, (“MHK”) is requesting bids from qualified contractors to furnish any and all labor and materials, and materials to connect Kona sewer with three houses: 75-5750 Alanoe St., 75-5748 Alanoe St., and 75-148 Alakai St. Scope of work to include: No building renovation. Install new plumbing from the house connecting to the Kona/Hawaii County sewer. Clean out existing cesspool and fill with dirt. Beneficiaries are 6, low income adults with mental illness who are housed at the location. Responsible for design of the sewer line, obtaining permits, removal of applicable materials, and installation of the sewer lines. PROJECT FUNDING This project is being funded in whole or in part by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, as administered by the County of Hawaii. The successful awardee shall be responsible for the compliance with all current County, State, and Federal laws, rules and regulations, including without limitation, those mandated by HUD regarding the CDBG Program. Minority, disadvantaged and women-owned businesses are encouraged to submit bids. Bidders are advised of the applicability of Act 68, Employment of State Residents on Construction Procurement Contracts and Act 17, relating to Apprenticeship Program Preference.
