NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

The County of Hawai’i, through its Department of Finance and in
coordination with the non-profit Ala Kahakai Trail Association (ATA) will
be holding a virtual public meeting for the Waikapuna Draft Resources
Management Plan. The purpose of the meeting is (1) to share the draft
management plan for the Waikapuna property (Tax Map Key 9-5-007:
016) and (2) to gather input on the draft plan. The draft plan is available
on the County’s website under the “Management Plans” folder: https://

ATA owns the Waikapuna parcel in fee simple. The County acquired a
Conservation Easement for over more than 2,000 acres at Waikapuna
in 2019 with funds from the County’s Public Access, Open Space, and
Natural Resources Preservation Fund.

Upon request, black & white, hard-copies of the Waikapuna Draft
Resources Management Plan are also available at the Department of
Finance, Property Management Division, 25 Aupuni Street, Suite 1101,
Hilo, HI 96720, or by mail before the meeting, upon request. Cost of copies
is $1.00 for the first page and $.10 for each additional page. Copies may
be mailed to interested persons after payment of fees for copies and
postage are received. Please call (808) 961-8069 to request copies.
