ALEXANDER JUAN CADANG 81, passed away on January 30, 2023 in Winchester, VA. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Alex was born on Kauai and spent his childhood on the Ewa Sugar Plantation. A graduate of St. Louis HS and Chaminade University, Alex was an educator for over 40 years. He served as Governor’s Liaison to West Hawaii under Ben Cayetano and is the grandmaster of Shiro Taka Kenpo Karate. Alex is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda, his daughter Kira Cadang Kristan (Terry) and Dejon Wright (Trevor), his sons Alexander “Alika” Cadang Jr. (Joelynn), and Ian Cadang (Angeline). Alex has four sisters, Annie Ferren, Leatrice Moniz, Lydia Barcelo, and Marlene Leslie and leaves behind countless friends and extended ohana. There will be a celebration of life at Yano Hall on August 4th at 5:00pm. A private burial will precede the celebration.
