PUBLIC NOTICE
AMENDMENT TO 2022 AND 2023 ACTION PLANS FOR THE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM
In accordance with the County’s approved Citizen Participation Plan, an amendment to the County’s Action Plan requires the publication of a public notice to notify citizens of the draft amendment and its availability for comments during the comment period from November 15 to December 15, 2023.
The County of Hawaii’s Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) is proposing an amendment to the following projects and providing affected citizens an opportunity to submit comments.
AMENDMENT TO THE 2022 ACTION PLAN
The OHCD is amending its 2022 Action Plan by reprograming $200,000.00 of 2017, 2018, and 2019 project funds to its 2022 West Hawaii Emergency Shelter Energy Efficiency Improvements project for additional funding necessary to complete the project.
AMENDMENTS TO THE 2023 ACTION PLAN
The OHCD is cancelling its award of $650,000.00 of 2023 CDBG funds for the Hamakua Youth Community Center Phase 2 Improvements.
The OHCD is reprogramming a portion of the cancelled Hamakua Youth Community Center Phase 2 Improvements project in the amount of $220,749.72 to the 2023 Mental Health Kokua Van Transportation Acquisition project for additional funding necessary for Mental Health Kokua to acquire four vans and two trucks to provide reliable transportation service for its clients in Hilo and Kona.
The OHCD will consider any comments and views expressed by citizens on the proposed amendment, and may modify the amendment, if it deems appropriate.
Citizens who wish to comment on the amendment must submit their comments in writing to the OHCD at 1990 Kinoole Street, Suite 102, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, or FAXED to (808) 961-8685 by December 15, 2023.
