PUBLIC NOTICE
AMENDMENT TO 2019 AND 2022 ACTION PLANS FOR THE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM

In accordance with the County of Hawaii’s approved Citizen Participation Plan, a substantial amendment to the County’s Action Plan requires the publication of a public notice to notify citizens of the draft amendment and its availability for comments during the comment period from June 27, 2024 to July 29, 2024.

The County of Hawaii’s Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) is proposing an amendment to the following project and providing affected citizens an opportunity to submit comments.

AMENDMENT TO THE 2019 ACTION PLAN

The OHCD is amending its 2019 Action Plan by reprogramming the balance of unobligated PY2019 CDBG funds in the amount of $76,810.17 to the 2022 Mental Health Kokua – Kona Residential Housing Renovations project for additional funding necessary to award the construction contract.

AMENDMENT TO THE 2022 ACTION PLAN

The OHCD is reprogramming the balance of a previously canceled 2022 CDBG project in the amount of $140,034.00, along with $76,810.17 of unobligated 2019 CDBG funds and $23,317.08 of 2020 uncommitted program income funds to the 2022 Mental Health Kokua – Kona Residential Housing Renovations project for additional funding necessary to award the construction contract.

The OHCD will consider any comments and views expressed by citizens on the proposed amendment, and may modify the amendment, if it deems appropriate.

Citizens who wish to comment on the amendment must submit their comments in writing to the OHCD at 1990 Kinoole Street, Suite 102, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, or e-mailed to ohcdcdbg@hawaiicounty.gov by July 29, 2024.
