Re: Notification of Flood Hazard Revisions TMK: (3)7-6-004:007 To whom it may concern, The Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) for a community depicts the floodplain, the area that has been determined to be subject to a 1% annual chance (100-year) or greater chance of flooding in any given year. The FIRM is used to determine flood insurance rates and to help the community with floodplain management. MRC LLC has applied for a Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on behalf of the County of Hawaii to revise flood hazards on FIRM Panel No. 1551660952F, effective date September 29, 2017, for Hawaii County, HI along the Holualoa Drainageway Tributary, from the confluence with Holualoa Drainageway to approximately 1075 feet upstream of Mamalahoa Highway. MRC LLC is proposing to revise the FIRM to reflect the existing topographic information and updated hydrologic and hydraulic modeling. As a result, the floodplain boundaries are revised compared to the effective boundaries. The County of Hawaii, Department of Public Works, in accordance with National Flood Insurance Program regulation at 44 CFR ยง65.7(b)(l), hereby gives notice of the County of Hawaii’s intent to revise the 1% annual chance (100-year) floodplain. The LOMR will result in removal of the Zone AE 1% annual chance floodplain boundaries and establishment of a Zone X (shaded) floodplain. This letter is to inform you of flood hazard revisions on or in the near vicinity of the subject property. Maps and a detailed analysis of the flood hazard revision can be reviewed at the County of Hawaii at 101 Pauahi Street, Suite 7, Hilo, HI 96720. If you have any questions or concerns about the proposed project or its effect on your property, you may contact Mr. Bryce Harada, P.E. of Hawaii County at (808) 961-8327 from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm on Monday through Friday. Sincerely, NEIL A. AVEZEDO Acting Director (WHT1526546 4/29, 4/30/26)
