content:REQUEST FOR CONSTRUCTION BIDS ARC OF KONA-KONA KRAFTS CESSPOOL CONVERSION AND IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT (SOUTH KONA) DEADLINE: 4:00 pm Wednesday, April 8, 2026 The Arc of Kona (Owner) is soliciting sealed proposals from qualified Hawaii licensed contractors for a design-build project at its residential group home located in Captain Cook. The scope of work includes the design and conversion of the existing cesspool to septic tank, replace kitchen cabinets and countertops, and replace flooring and baseboards. All work shall be performed in accordance with the specifications, scope of work, and other requirements. Proposals must be received by 4:00 pm on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. A site visit and inspection of the Project will be held on March 18, 2026 at 10:00 am. The site address is 82-1055 Kiloa Road, Captain Cook, HI 96704. All prospective Bidders for the Project are strongly advised to attend the site visit and inspection which will address any questions regarding the scope of work for the Project. If a bidder is unable to attend the scheduled site visit, an individual appointment may be scheduled upon request by contacting Michele Ku at michele@arcofkona.org or 808-323-2626. The bid packet will be provided to contractors upon request via email or during the site visit. The Bid Specifications Form and all requested information and documentation must be submitted via email to the attention as follows: The Arc of Kona Attention: Michele Ku; President/CEO Email: michele@arcofkona.org Bids submitted by interested parties for the Project and received by the deadline will be considered and opened at 4:00 pm on April 8, 2026. Proposals will not be opened publicly. Bid Proposals for the Project received after the deadline will not be accepted or considered. Any and all costs incurred in preparing or delivering bids in connection with the Project will not be reimbursed. All bids and requested information and documentation submitted in connection with the Project shall become the property of The Arc of Kona and will not be returned. This project is being funded in whole or in part with federal funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, as administered by the County of Hawaii. The successful awardee shall be responsible for compliance with all current County, State, and Federal laws, rules and regulations, including without limitation, those mandated by HUD regarding the CDBG Program. The Arc of Kona reserves the right to request additional information or clarification from bidders that submit a bid, reject any or all bids, waive any bid irregularities, select the bid that is in the best interest of the Project and not necessarily the lowest cost bid, negotiate any changes deemed necessary for the Project before or after the signing of the construction contract, and to cancel the Request for Construction Bids at any time.
